I’ve been called shameless. I suppose worse things too but that description comes up a lot from people that know me well. I don’t deny it, but my shamelessness is mixed with heavy dose of morals and is always in a pursuit of my passions. For many years now I have found appreciation in my ways through the great quotes of the late Steve Jobs. Business successes aside, Jobs seemed to have a great outlook on life and one that kept him living true to his values each day. Below are several quotes from Jobs and reasons why they resonate with me:

I’ve always been consumed by the thought of death. It is one of the main things that gets me out of bed in the morning and pushes me to achieve my goals. It’s not just about success though. Knowing that this beautiful dream could all come to an end at any moment makes you appreciate each second and find comfort in the chaos. Learning to see the world this way will help each of us lead a more fulfilled life.

Slaton and I were talking about this exact thing recently. Pursuing a passion at all times is critical to being happy with what you are doing. We know as well as anyone that this is often times much easier said than done. No one is able to pursue their passions every day to the fullest. But it’s critically important that we try. Often times the worst case scenarios is that you don’t succeed but learn an incredible amount through the process and there’s a ton of value in that!

It would be a lie to say I don’t care what other people think. We all do, it’s human nature. Take opinions as a grain of salt and don’t be afraid to say no or cast them aside. In the end, being true to yourself is the only thing that matters so make sure you feel this way on a daily basis!
